John Grisham. I only really enjoyed one of two of the half dozen I read, and his bland prose is probably to blame.

Patricia Cornwell. She writes pretty much the same book over and over, and isn't particularly good at it. When Scarpetta started getting chased by a serial killer - ok, time to leave.
I found Kathy Reichs partially better (Brennan's involvement in the cases is a tad more believable than Scarpetta's), but ultimately forgettable. I bailed just before she started calling all her books Bones [Something] to tie in with the tv show. $ellout.

Patricia Cornwell, Clive Cussler. Cussler got too formulaic.

Stephen King. I was done after reading "It" and decided it was time to move on.

I gave Steve Berry a shot. For a thriller writer, he's a tad dry.

I read four of the Cotton Malone series (a humorless man's Dirk Pitt) but I'll admit his standalone novel The Columbus Affair was actually good.
