Tits...I mean it's not a bad choice when you really think about it. Yes. Her boobs are very nice but Sydney is gorgeous all over and is a wonderful actress. Many people in the industry are calling her the next big thing now and are saying she is going to be the next Jennifer Lawrence in a few years time and did you not see her in 'Everything Sucks?' She was awesome as Emaline. Here is a recent video of Sydney with the other star of that show, Peyton Kennedy. She should be kissed.
Never seen her in anything or heard of her outside of you tbh Deb, the next Jennifer Lawrence huh? that's not really a selling point with me as I am not a fan of hers, but I assume it's meant to be complimentary, hopefully if she does break out huge she's doesn't start phoning in her work like Ms Lawrence has been known to.

I'm tired of 25 year olds playing high schoolers and Hollywood trying to tell us that they look like teenagers. No, they do not look like teenagers. I understand you have to do it sometimes in a TV series but you can cast actual teenagers in a movie. This article from 2006 gives an explanation to why that is Why does Hollywood cast twentysomethings as teenagers?

Apparently the reason they cast 25 year olds to play high school kids is, ironically, that audiences think actual high school kids look too young to play high school kids. They may not be wrong. I'm 41 and I live in a college town, and many of the seniors at 22 look like they're not a day over 16 in my eyes. To an adult, an actual 16 year old would seem too young to be doing whatever it is they're doing in a movie; especially an action movie. We just wouldn't buy it.

I would think it also factors in with time, teens are still evolving physically, movies take a while to do, and often only span a short time within the story, so you cant have the kid suddenly hit a growth spurt or something, plus what about if you want to do a sequel? do you want to risk A: the kid not wanting to be an actor anymore or B: suddenly developed into a really awkward looking adult? and what if the sequel isn't meant to be taking place years later but right after, imagine what it would look like if you did BTTF now and cast an actual 16 year old as Marty? by the time BTTF 3 was being filmed he'd probably be 21, 19 at best if there weren't any problems in fast tracking the films, but still he'd have aged visibly in those years despite only like 2 weeks taking place over the course of all 3 of the films.
Easier to cast older and just make them look younger as they have fully developed by 21.

Its actually pretty hard to know a persons age by just looking at them, because there are people who looks a lot younger or older than their actual age. Also a 22 year old is an adult.

Apologies, I'm not sure where you're going here. Agreed, 22 is an adult. Of course there are exceptions, but my point was that as you get older, it's harder to differentiate the relative age of younger people because they all just look 'young.' As far as this discussion is concerned, I don't know what the difference would be between casting a 25 year old who looks 'young' and casting a 17 year old who looks 'old.' In either case, the actor looks older than the average high school student, which is what the casting director was going for-- because our brains would reject actual high school students as looking too young.

I get what you're saying. I started dating when I was 13 and at that time, I couldn't understand why adults thought 13 was too young to be dating. I thought myself mature enough and I remember thinking the 16 yr. old girls I saw in school were about as womanly as you can get. Nowadays I look at a 16 yr. old girl and see them as nothing but kids. I look at 13-16 yr old. boys and don't think they're mature enough to know what actual dating means. So yeah, casting actual teenagers in a teenage show wouldn't really go well for the greater majority of audiences.

So yeah, casting actual teenagers in a teenage show wouldn't really go well for the greater majority of audiences. Depending on what the target audience is, for Nick or Disney it's fine because they aren't doing adult things, so a 16 year old acting like a more childish 16 year old isn't an issue, but for actual teen dramas aimed for teens and 20 somethings, they need to be more "mature" and having actual kids smoking, drinking and boning as the main theme of a show with actual underage kids will not fly, which is why we get kids playing kids in kid shows or when they are only secondary or background characters to an adult main cast, but adults being kids when they are meant to be the focus.
IIRC Mila Kunis caused a bit of a stir when she lied about her age for That 70's show, but they loved her enough to deal with her ago for a season or two till she turned 18.

I think what they generally mean is Sydney could go on to become one of the top earning actresses who is well known around the world. While I am not a huge fan of Jennifer Lawrence either and think there are far better actresses in Hollywood there is no denying her success or that she is one of the biggest names in the industry at the moment.

If not Teresa Palmer... Then I wouldn't mind Jessica Rothe from Happy Death Day (2017) scoring the role of Kara Zor-El/Supergirl. I've been waiting for another Supergirl movie ever since first seeing Supergirl (1984) starring Helen Slater. I've changed my mind a few times on who I'd like to see in the role, but currently these^ two actresses would be my top choices.

OT-fun fact. Melody Patterson who played "Wrangler Jane" on the 60's sitcom "F Troop" was 15 when she auditioned and 16 when the show started shooting. She played the romantic interest for Ken Berry who was about 32 when the show started.
She could have played Supergirl.
