I've been to spring training in Tampa but spent more time at Pirates games in Bradenton, not sure if they still play the springs there, this was a while ago. Spring training is great for any fan. Sure the games lack some of the intensity, but there's a very nice picnic feeling in the air, the players are having fun, you can even get a chance to chat with the players and coaches before the game as it's a much more relaxed atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

I've been to see the Yankees (Fort Lauderdale...training and a game) and to see the Houston Astros for some odd reason (Kissemmee, training).
And, yes, it is well worth going. Not as fun and interesting as an NFL training camp (I have gone to see Jets and Giants every year since I was like five), but baseball spring training is a definite must-do for sports fans. The atmosphere -- the actually feel of the warmth and the easy-going nature of the whole thing -- is pure baseball. NFL training is coaches yelling, guys actually fighting each other, hitting, some harsh physical drills...far, far more intense than MLB training.

When I was young in the 50's, my dad took me to see the Yankees in Ft. Lauderdale several years in a row. It was awesome!

I spent a week in Clearwater a few years ago to see the Phillies. It was a lot of fun. I'll second what Klawrencio said, that it is a fun, relaxed, picnic-like atmosphere. The weather is nice, everyone is having a good time. I would definitely go again.

Yep. Red Sox at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers, FL. Smaller crowd which is kind of neat.

I have a friend that retired two years ago from teaching. She and her husband are still in their 50s and doing some traveling. They have gone to Surprise AZ twice. They love it.
