i don't know how many, if any watched this enthralling game last night but it provided lots to ponder. Ramos being mauled by Diego Costa (Yeah), Modric starting on the bench, Marcelo proving once again that when it comes to being a defensive left back, he is in the same class as my hero Izaguirre and strangest of all, Bale being played very very wide right for most of the game. He was most obviously RM's go-to attacker but got very poor service without Modric to feed him. Strange tactic by Lopetegui. Very impressed with Atletico, for whom former Liverpool target Thomas Lemar was outstanding. Their quick passing exposed RM's defensive shortcomings and Costa is the perfect frontman to capitalise on their intricate short passing. He had Varane and Ramos sh!tting themselves from the first minute. They must have a great chance of challenging Barca for LA Liga. Real will have to settle for the CL again.
