That was fucking pathetic. Want to show up the guy who's been showing you up, hang an 0-4 on him. You don't do it by breaking his elbow. I wouldn't want to be a Marlins hitter the next time the play the Braves.
Speaking of HBP, it's the 98th anniversary of Ray Chapman and Carl Mays submarine pitch upside the skull.

Agreed, saw this last night and it's absolutely bush league horsecrap from the pitcher. Granted, every sport has its own etiquette that I don't always agree with, but beaning guys always seems gutless unless it's retaliation for something physical the batter may have done to one of your guys. (i.e. a hard slide into second or something) Like pitchers who bean a guy who admired a homer the last AB. Want revenge? Strike him out.

It seemed like a punk move, but Urena led the league in hbp last year, so either his control sucks or heβs a douche bag. Or both.

I might be wrong (it happens. rarely ) but it looked to me like Urena was aiming for Acuna. His arm, shoulder his whole body was not pointed at home plate, it was pointed to the batter. It almost looked like he was playing darts. A dart player who was throwing at 20 and then switches to 18 makes a slight body adjustment. Urena did the same thing.

He almost certainly did in on purpose, I agree. He just hasnβt shown the control of Greg Maddux in the past.

Iβm a Marlins fan, and I agree it was pathetic, disgraceful and Bush league. Urena should be suspended.

Send the shit head back down to the sticks for a couple of years. He doesn't belong in the majors.

I see Acuna is playing tonight, I fantasy benched him last night.
Because he was hit by pitch, his streak actually remained intact.

Was it even that bad of a pitch? No where near his head.

Was it even that bad of a pitch? No where near his head. It was the first pitch of the game. He intentionally threw at him because the batter was on a hot streak, no other reason. It's a dick move, period.

I'm of the old school whereby a rookie shows you up by hitting a bunch of HRs, you hit him. But I'm not really serious about it. It's like saying "there ought to be a law...."
I think the unwritten law stuff is mostly a bunch of crap.

Was it even that bad of a pitch? No where near his head. Probably would have been better if he had bounced it off the top of his batting helmet than off of his unprotected elbow. You can hear the "crack" when the ball hits. I'm surprised he didn't break his elbow. Urena could have sent the same message by throwing it two feet over Acuna's head. He's too good of a player to be out for the rest of the year because the Marlins can't keep the ball in the park.
