Has anyone watched this recently at all? I'm convinced that Ben Afflect Bruce Wayne was modeled after Donald Trump.

Donald Trump? That seems highly unlikely.

I remember Kevin Smith called him Bat-Trump in a podcast back in 2016.
In Batman's mind; 1% = 100%

OK seriously, I'm not trolling, but what exactly was Lex planning to do after his turd monster killed Superman? How was he planning to control it?

The simple answer is to assume that he didn’t plan on controlling it. We’re most likely supposed to assume that Lex was so obsessed with killing Superman that he didn’t care if the world gets destroyed.

Not since I saw it in theaters. I don't like it but I don't think it was dead on arrival. In a perfect world, I do think if it went through another rewrite and the editor(s) did their damn job, there could have been something watchable here.

I guess building a wall around earth would be pointless against kryptonians.

The main fight between Batman & Superman looked like a Linkin Park music video.

Batfleck had nothing like Trump. But hilariously the depraved, horny Penguin and his failed political career in Batman Returns reminded me of Trump, except that Trump won. Anyway, you must admit that they both played their towns like a harp from hell.

+Is an old rich white guy
+Hates immigrants
+Wants the immigrants dead
+Objectified Women
= Trump
Obviously Zack Snyder put that in because of the 2016!

Shreck is what Trump wants to see himself, the Penguin is what he really is inside.

It's grown on me. I'll watch it purely for entertainment value because it's so bad it's so good and funny in hindsight because of what they set out to achieve. It's really just nothing but a huge spectacle that means nothing and really has no depth to it

It's funny how many people complained about Thor's hot tub dream machine in Avengers: Age of Ultron because it apparently didn't go anywhere (It did, but whatever), but were quite happy to defend that godawful knightmare scene because "it was going to be addressed in a sequel."
I'm almost certain Zack Snyder only put scene in there because it was "badass."

Last saw it in December when I watched the UE for the first time.
It's the weakest of the franchise so far, but I wouldn't say it's terrible. There are things that I do like in it that make it passable.

I really only watched it once all the way through. I tried watching it again recently, but couldn't finish. It is kind of amazing how bad this turned out with the budget and actors involved. You think with all that backstory it could be good by accident.

OK seriously, I'm not trolling, but what exactly was Lex planning to do after his turd monster killed Superman? How was he planning to control it? Ok, fair question. I don't think he thought that far, or if he did it wasn't important enough to the drama of the story to include extra scenes explaining that. Its one of those things that derails dramatic progression in a story. I'm pretty sure you'll think that's BS, but its true. Very often scenes are cut from both scripts and even shot films in order to keep the dramatic flow moving.
An example of bad dramatic flow that they should cut out of the movie...? The dream sequences, and the Justice League video intros. Those are examples of bad dramatic beats that they should've either re-organized OR cut altogether.
I think Lex was satisfied to create the monster and aim it at Superman. Period. Also I think its pretty obvious (it was to me) that the creature was going to die. It couldn't keep mutating and shedding off energy the way it was doing without reaching some final conclusion at some point. That's what I thought anyway.

This. It had Lex's DNA, and his motivations. It's hate for Superman made him it's only target.
