A bronze statue of the satanic goat monster Baphomet was unveiled Thursday at the Arkansas Capitol building in front of a cheering crowd of free-speech activists and a smaller crowd of unhappy people holding handwritten Bible verses. The nearly 8-foot-tall statue’s brief public appearance marked the culmination of a three-year effort for the Satanic Temple to bring it there...
...As for the good people of Little Rock, not everyone welcomed the demonic visitor. Here’s the scene the day before the unveiling. It’s unclear how many honked.
“It will be a very cold day in hell before an offensive statue will be forced upon us,” state Sen. Jason Rapert (R), a key supporter of the Ten Commandments display, wrote on the day of Baphomet’s arrival.
More protesters were on hand holding Bible verses when the goat rolled up to the Capitol on a flatbed truck Thursday afternoon. A few people also brought Confederate flags, for reasons unclear. Rapert appeared on the pastor Happy Caldwell’s show to preemptively declare Satan’s defeat.

Two Women Of Revelation
This is eventually going to pass, as the Devil *HAS* an Enemy in the Mother Of God!!!! (Genesis chapter 3:15; Revelation chapter 12).

If I recall correctly, Clusium was criticized for posting stories on this august board and not giving her opinion of them. Now, The Eddy Hopper has done the same. Does The Eddy Hopper see this incident as a positive move, or a negative one, or are his thoughts more complex? What does he think about it? The world wonders.

Funny thing, people were screaming their lungs out to tear down Robert E. Lee's statue.

Funny thing, people were screaming their lungs out to tear down Robert E. Lee's statue. You raise an excellent point there, Maya. And a similar thing is happening right here in Canada right now, with people screaming their lungs to take down John A. MacDonald's statue. (John A. MacDonald was our first Prime Minister. He is to Canadians what George Washington is to Americans.)

Jason Rapert has some nerve talking about what's offensive. I remember him saying this years ago.
RAPERT: I hear you loud and clear, Barack Obama. You don't represent the country that I grew up with. And your values is not going to save us. We're going to take this country back for the Lord. We're going to try to take this country back for conservatism. And we're not going to allow minorities to run roughshod over what you people believe in!

Funny thing, people were screaming their lungs out to tear down Robert E. Lee's statue. Robert E. Lee is a religious figure... representing a specific religion... with statues of him doing so on state property?? There's the problem, right there, with evangelicals being able to influence text books.

Funny thing, people were screaming their lungs out to tear down Robert E. Lee's statue. Baphomet wasn't a war criminal who fought for slavery.

Baphomet is a demon of Satan, and as such is a war criminal who fights for slavery. But Lee's statue needs to be taken down, too.

No. If he's a demon opposed to the god of the bible, he would be opposed to the institution of slavery, which that god supports. This is, of course, just a move to make a point. christians in the US are attempting to tear down the wall of separation between church and state. They like to put things like ten commandments monuments on government land, claiming that it's not a religious act but just a cultural one. So a group put this statue there to demonstrate that they're lying about that. And of course, the christian howls of protest prove nicely that all of this is indeed about religion. In truth the baphomet statue shouldn't be allowed on government land - and neither should ten commandments monuments, statues of jesus, etc.

Even if you believe Satan as more worthy of respect or worship it is in one way giving recognition to Abrahamic religions. I guess many people who call themselves Satanists are not really serious but still it is much better to not give any sort of recognition to 'demons' and 'satans' because such entities do no exist.

Also, I think the Book of Exodus makes pretty clear how God Feels about slavery.

That was my point. Baphomet did not commit war crimes or support slavery, because he's fictional. Therefore, erecting a statue for him doesn't make less sense than building a statue for Darth Vader or Lord Voldemort; although both were villains in their Universe. And Darth Vader redeemed himself; he already got his statue. www.atlasobscura.com/places/darth-vader-statue

I'd imagine you'd actually be very hard pressed to find any legitimate theistic Satanists. Pretty sure most "satanists" are Laveyan types, more of a symbolic gesture against Christianity than a legitamte worship (or even belief) of Satan. I'm not sure why anyone would legtitametly worship Satan, by proxy you would also have to believe in Hell, which is where you would be going if you're going to believe in such a thing.
