I think either approach could be great. He’s a fantastic character. A show allows for more world building, And exposition than a film, But the shows also can drag.

Marvel would be stupid not to do anything with Moon Knight.
He's not only a fan favorite but also one of their most requested characters for film.

If there were a Moon Knight movie it would have to deviate pretty far from the comic book so as to make sure that it was not mistaken for Batman. Aside from the costume being white (which is a good start in differentiating the two) there are some strong similarities. I think a Netflix type TV show might actually be better for this particular property, and I'm the guy that usually prefers a movie.

A tv show would suit the character better, to keep it true to the source material. A movie will be too watered down.

Who in the blue hell is Moon Knight? He’s a wealthy, gadget-yielding martial artist, but he’s kooky, too, and there is the Egyptian god of vengeance in play. You’ll love him because he’s similar enough to Batman that people can say he’s a rip, at least at his most base attributes.

This would be awesome!
I would prefer it to be a movie. If it was a TV show he would be locked off from ever interacting with the movie characters like the Netflix characters sadly were.

Who in the blue hell is Moon Knight? Moon Knight is Marc Spector aka Steven Grant, Jake Lockley, The Fist of Khonshu, Yitzak Topol or Mr. Knight. In our next discussion, you can tell me how your ignorance of the character uniquely qualifies you to preemptively declare that the MCU got him wrong.

He's got more in common with The Shadow than Batman, I don't think you'd need to change much of the story at all. Everyone loves the newer MK comics where they delve into his psychosis, but there were some great stories back in the 80s runs. I've always been a huge fan and I'd prefer a series rather than a film. He's such a compelling character that a film would never have enough time for character and story development to suit the material.

That's what sets him apart from Batman and any other characters (With Batman the psychosis drives him on, with Moon Knight the psychosis broke him and out of that came the vigilante; its a different scenario).
However it also sets it up to be a dark story. And in this MCU, crack a joke every five minutes, and everything is jolly, and brightly colored era that we're in right now I don't think that dark story will fly very well.
Unless it were a Netflix type show.

I don't think it's the only interesting angle, though. Some of the Huston stuff from about ten years ago was fantastic, and that was more about Spector trying to stay sane instead of taking a deep dive into dissociative identity disorder or whatever the term of the week is. Make it more of a procedural show focusing on his oath to Khonshu; like Dexter as a superhero, punishing the wicked. You can still have some of the struggle to keep himself sane along the way, as long as it doesn't go full Legion on us. Moon Knight in any iteration is too dark for the cinematic branch of the MCU, he has to go to whatever their streaming service is going to be. If the show isn't at least as dark as Daredevil season one, they did something very wrong with this character.
