Not sure Michael Mann's ugly digital look was best suited for this film. Me thinks it probably would have looked better in black and white. The Mann does know how to film a firefight, though. The sequence at the Little Bohemia Lodge is the highlight in an otherwise dreary film.

I found this movie pretty interesting, just for the historical events portrayed, if nothing else. And yes, I realize that some of it was fiction.

Johnny Depp was 46 when this movie was released. Then again, Warren Oates was roughly the same age when he played the role in the 1970s.

I've liked Mann's work such as Heat and Collateral, but this film disappointed me. Feels like a biopic that just covers the surface for Dillinger.

I don't think Mann's digital look is ugly at all and think it adds something very unique to his newer films.

Actually enjoyed it a lot. One of Depp’s better recent performances.

I totally understand it not working for people, especially in a movie like Public Enemies. I actually think it is wonderful in Miami Vice (2006).
