I like the health benefits that turmeric has to provide. Can be good when you have cold but even in normal times it boosts your health. I like to drink what is called golden latte. Also use it in cooking. Top quality spice I would say.

I'm assuming that I am allergic to tumeric. I was taking it when I had a bad upper respiratory incident and broke out in rash on my lower legs. Went to the doctor and since that was the only thing I was doing different, it was thought that the tumeric caused it.

My Mom used turmeric, on the advice from a friend who recommended it for an arthritic knee. She used it over a period of about 5 years, while she was still able to take her daily 2 mile walk.
It seemed to work for her, although she conceded the possibility that it was power of suggestion ... but, she didn't care. By whatever means, it was working. She used the powdered version, mixing a teaspoon with; yogurt, cottage cheese, mixed fruit and other things that I can't recall.
The (beautiful) color of powdered turmeric does tend to build up on things around it. I've heard that it's used as a dye for fabric, but on "solids," such as counter tops, can be wiped off, without a permanent effect.
