I would say for the most part no. Some Jehovah's Witnesses leaving pamphlets hear and there and a decent sized Catholic population and the city was pretty much founded by a missionary (there's a giant cross overlooking the city), but for the most part I wouldn't say religion has a huge influence here (at least compared to the south or midwest)

In terms of church attendance, probably about middle of the pack.

I live in a multi-ethnic locality of Melbourne and in last 4 years I have only seen religious people on one occasion. I have never had any group try to convert me or educate me about their religion or in any way market their religion. Yes, in my university (2014-16 time period) I did see some pamphlets of Christians and Muslims.
(Happened in 2016) *I am not sure even the one time I saw some people and thought they were religious were actually religious or not. I was walking near Preston cemetery. A group of about 30 people was walking may be 12 feet ahead of me. It seemed they were walking in some sort of ceremony or ritual. A car came from behind and people inside the car started throwing beer cans on the group ahead of me. I was scared a lot but the group of 30 didn't show any emotion after getting hit by beer cans. The car sped past them. About 10 seconds later another car came and did the same thing. I was so scared that I crossed the road (even though it was not green) and went to the opposite end of the road. I don't know what scared me more whether the car people hitting the group of 30 with cans or the group showing no emotion about it. Once on the opposite end of the road I just walked quickly and didn't even dare to see the group of 30. They may have stopped near the entrance gate of cemetery. But I am not sure.

I live in Lexington KY so it’s pretty religious but perhaps the least conservative city in the state.

I’m in the military, so I would say “yes and no”. There is a lot of fake religion associated with the military. Basically, everyone publicly identifies as “Christian”, but very few actually give a shit about religion. It’s mostly done for show!

No, Scotland as a whole is relatively irreligious. I thought it had a decent sized Catholic population, though I might be thinking of Ireland.

Ireland is the country with the Catholic history, although Ireland also is rapidly becoming less religious: The only very religious part of Scotland is the western Isles, which is quite cut off from the rest of the country.

No, Scotland as a whole is relatively irreligious. I thought it had a decent sized Catholic population, though I might be thinking of Ireland. Scotland's main football rivalry - Glasgow Rangers vs Celtic - was initially based on Protestant vs Catholic divide. The rivalry is still fierce but mainly a thing of culture than religion nowadays. Over the years Scotland has become less and less religious. That said it has not been overwhelmingly Catholic as Ireland any time in last 400 years.

Cool, but where's the local church for the ugly old men who wear the red hats and the aprons?
