I like the tense plot of this one, when Holmes and Watson have to protect a prince and get him from Britain to Morocco with bad guys at their heels. The twist ending is fantastic.

This is probably my favorite in the series, followed closely by Woman in Green, faces Death, Sherlock Holmes in Washington , Sherlock Holmes and the Voice of Terror, and the Spider Woman.
The excellent support c ast, led by Rosalind Ivan as the slightly Dotty Angela Dunham threatening Watson with healthy hikes and warm milk. Then there’s Martin Kosleck, one of the great cinema faces as Mirko the knife thrower. Gerald Hamer as an Egyptologist is present. But the pearl is Marjorie Riordan . Her only other notable film was Mr Skeffington , where she played Bette Davis’s plain Jane unwanted daughter. Here she’s a saucy young lady making her living as a cabaret artist.. Her songs are real high spots , and she accompanies Watson in his bravura performance of Loch Lomond. The story is full of marvelous twists .
