Best: The casting overall. Worst: Snyder's direction. ^^^THIS^^^ is exactly right...
Except for in the case of casting Eisenberg as Luthor. And I actually like Eisenberg as an actor, but you have to cast him right. He was GREAT in the Social Network and been very effective in other movies I've seen him in. But even if he had performed differently (better? stronger?) he just doesn't exude the presence that Luthor requires IMO.

I am holding out full judgement on Eisenberg until he isn't directed by Snyder and isn't saying Snyder approved dialogue. Lots of people think Cavill is a terrible Superman (which I can't disagree with more) but it's because Snyder's vision took over. So I think MilleniaLex is a concept that can work and Eisenberg is the right person to bring that version to life. There were moments of brilliance in his performance. He made a lot more out of the "Red Capes are coming" monologue than deserved to be there, and he was fairly menacing at points during the scene when he admitted to kidnapping Martha...and even though it was just a few seconds, the cameo at the end of JL indicated promise to me. For me, this version of Lex would epitomize the "Brain vs. Brawn" theme that has always been there in the Lex vs Supes conflict, but has never really been inhabited to this extent.

This is how I see his Luthor: Imagine if you will a real twerp in high school. He gets picked on, a lot, and he has no success with girls, his teachers realize he's smart but they cant get through to him because he's so awkward and shy. At home his dad is a total dick and makes him feel like crap, and his mom might as well not even be there. Added to which he might have some mild but legitimate mental health issues. he definitely high functioning, savant even, but it makes for strained interpersonal relationships. He holds it together long enough to graduate college and become an adult.
Then suddenly, with his parents dead and no other heirs, he inherits the Luthor corporation and massive fortune and power.
What do you think that twerp would do?
He'd be the biggest dick there ever was! No one could stop him. He'd do whatever the fuck he wanted because A) he has all the money and power to do whatever the hell he wants, and B) he has no moral compass to hold him back. In his mind not only does he have the ability to do whatever he wants, he also has the right, because of all those years of getting shit on. So fuck the world! I'm Lex fucking Luthor!
Then some fucking prick alien immigrant comes from out of nowhere with the powers of a god and steals my fucking thunder?!? Fuck that! He's going down...
That's Jesse Einsenbergs Luthor. A twerp, with lots of earthly power.
Sounds like someone we voted into the presidency, no?

Best: Great portrayal of Wonder Woman.
Worst: Poor portrayals of quite a few characters.

Best Thing: By far the inclusion of female superheroes. We have Wonder Woman and Batgirl, Supergirl and Birds of Prey on the way and Warner Bros have said if 'Wonder Woman 2' is a success female superheroes could become the main focus of the DCEU and I think Zatanna and Raven will be next in line.
Worst Things: Poor writing for every movie apart from 'Wonder Woman.' The order of the movies ('Suicide Squad' should have never got a movie before 'Teen Titans') and Poor 'Justice League' lineup.

Positives:
The epical, operatic feel and verve of Batman v Superman
Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman (and her movie)
The willingness to be different from Marvel, at least until the Whedonized Justice League
Affleck’s older, angrier Batman
The focus on actual dialogue, character-work—build-up rather than blow-up
The interest in philosophy, the themes of man vs. superman
The characters. I really liked all the folks in Justice League and wish they would have been in a better movie
Eisenberg’s Luthor, though I sometimes feel like I’m the only one who liked this characterization
The willingness to be unfaithful to the comics, emphasizing that it’s a movie, not a comic book, and not only for comic-book readers/fans
Negatives:
The broodiness, moodiness, and overall dark feeling of the series, which especially doesn’t work for Superman
The choppiness of the editing, as if in too many cases they’re just trying to force a movie out
Going for cheap blow-it-up climaxes after interesting build-ups
The lack of attention paid to anyone but the heroes
Joss Whedon
Man of Steel
Going overboard with being anti-Marvel, at the risk of sacrificing fun
Using Amy Adams badly, and giving Fishburne et al. nothing to do

I don't disagree, except you imply that all he has is money, whereas I think he has the money and a genius level intellect. But I don't find that to be a bad version of Lex necessarily. Lex started out as the villain of the time...a mad scientist, then in the mid 80's, after Crisis, he became the new "villain" of the real world...the ultra powerful business man. Now he can evolve into the current "villain" of the real world...

Personally, the big thing that bothers me with the DCEU version of Lex Luthor is the idea that he inherited his success from his daddy. I’ve always preferred the idea of Lex Luthor being a self-made man who’s hatred for Superman partially stems from the fact that Supes didn’t have to work to become an all powerful being. Not only does it help emphasize how much of a genius he is, but it also makes him a good foil for both Superman and Batman.

The DCEU isn't the only place where this is done though, it was definitely part of Smallville, and about half of Lex's origin stories have him coming from money.
