I don’t want to be a curmudgeon (well, maybe I do a little) but those are not classics. They are from 1984 and ’85. (I can hum the tune of We Are The World but don’t know the others). Here are three classics to rate: Chuck Berry - You Never Can Tell Del Shannon – Runaway The Platters – The Great Pretender I think you're being too narrow in your definition of classic. I defined it much the same way as I define classic movies. There was a period of "laying down the basics" and playing the variations on them. Then, about 1970, there was a change and movies entered the "modern" period. In rock music history, 1970 was also a turning point into a new phase when the Beatles broke up. Therefore, pre-1970, in my thinking, is the classic eras of both film and rock 'n roll. Certainly different people can argue different criteria and dates, but those are mine.

Three of the worst songs in the history of mankind. You really know what I hate.
Wham! - Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go - Lightweight bubblegum, but it's the best of three considering it tried to be nothing more than a catchy throwaway top 40 pop tune. 4/10
USA For Africa - We are the World! - Pretentious crap as music but the cause was a good one. It got a lot of artists together. But for listening it's atrocious. 3/10
Starship - We Built This City on Rock n Roll - Corporate rock which destroyed the legacy of the drug classic "White Rabbit". 1/10
