In 1983's remake of BREATHLESS (an unsung gem), the fugitive lovers hide out in a movie theater and get it on behind the screen during a showing of GUN CRAZY. You can see the reverse image of the movie above them as they go at it. Which is an experience I'm sure we've all had.

One slapped me in the face when I was re-reading this thread, can't believe I forgot it.
The Shining in Twister at the drive in movie theater.
Another one is the Explorers with River Phoenix. This Island Earth and War of the Worlds are shown briefly...
Not sure if it counts, but "Stolz der Nation" is the short film shown in Inglourious Basterds...

Targets (1968) Boris Karloff as Byron Orlok attends a screening of The Terror (which supposedly stars Orlok). Earlier in the film, Karloff and Peter Bogdanovich watch The Criminal Code on TV (also supposedly with Orlok). Caprice (1967) Doris Day goes to a theater showing Caprice (and gets molested therein by Michael J. Pollard).

How To Lose Friends & Alienate People (2008) - Simon Pegg's character watches his deceased mother on TV - she is Janette Scott, the film is Now and Forever (1956). Later in the film Pegg and Kirsten Dunst re-unite during an outdoor screening of La Dolce Vita (1960)
True Romance (1993) - Patricia Arquette meets Christian Slater at a Sonny Chiba/Streetfighter triple bill. Not sure which of the trilogy is shown on screen

In Red Dawn, the communist occupiers show Russian propaganda movies. One of several scenes in the film that are so ridiculous as to bring laughter.

In Red Dawn, the communist occupiers show Russian propaganda movies. One of several scenes in the film that are so ridiculous as to bring laughter. Which? Were they clips from actual movies or just spoofs mocked up for Red Dawn? The frontage in your picture advertises Alexander Nevsky (1938) dir: Sergei M. Eisenstein. If that is the sort of "propaganda movie" they were showing I should think it would be a progressive move for the USA. Free admission too! Sounds like Swayze made a wrong move throwing the commies out.

Sounds like Swayze made a wrong move throwing the commies out. Only the marquee is shown. I've probably recounted the time I rented Alexander Nevsky back in '88 or so. Unsure how much to charge for the rental, the counter clerk shouted over to the manager, "HEY MR THOMPSON! IS ALEXANDER NEVSKY A PORNO MOVIE?"

Towards the end of Interview with the Vampire (1994), Brad Pitt's character, Louis, watches a bunch of films at the movie theatre. Sunrise (1927), Nosferatu (1922), Don Juan (1926), Gone with the Wind (1939) and Superman (1978). At the end of the montage, Louis is shown walking out of a theatre showing Tequila Sunrise (1988).
