Depends on what you mean by better. Clapton is better technically and could improvise with the best of them. Harrison was great at arranging and progressions.

Love both, but Clapton was more of a lead, George more rhythm.

I probably like Clapton a bit more in most respects, but it's very close. I'm a fan of both, though I'm a bigger fan of bandmates of both.

Songwriting: Harrison Guitar playing: Clapton
I'm basing Clapton's guitar playing from his Cream days. I loved him in Cream. For me he took a nosedive in the 70's and never really came out of it.

I've only heard Clapton's solo stuff vs Harrison's contributions to the Beatles, and would go with Harrison. Obviously so far as guitar playing, Clapton's better.

Personally, I not a fan of Clapton, though he is certainly great guitar player and a better one than Harrison.
But Clapton still hasn't written a song anywhere being close to as great as 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'.
