these are alleged indirect reactions from early Studio screening aimed at improving the product. They are not indicative of the final, finished product. This could be a shallow CGI mess or a deep sci fi underwater adventure or soemthing in the middle.
And the "MCU phase 1" quote makes me dubious, this seems more a reaction to the look and feel of the trailer, which was very dumb-fun and 80s action-orientated.

I take early reactions with a grain of salt. I've films that were great but reactions were horrible and vice versa. |

Given that "early reactions" to DCU movies are always much better than they deserve, that comparison must be pretty worrying for DCU fans.  |

I love a good origin film so if true this is a positive reception. Phase 1 MCU has some of the best origin movies.

Most of the critics said in their reviews that it was in essence "good but not great" or "better than average, but not Marvel". I think that was the problem. Most of the critics were trying to compare the film to Marvel, when it was its own thing. |
