Directed by Adam McKay, produced by Martin Scorsese and Oliver Stone, and then written by the Coen Brothers from a story by Aaron Sorkin. Narrated by Stormy Daniels.

Of the suggestions offered thus far I reckon Verhoeven might be the funniest.
If we are allowed directors from classic era (and we should be - it's a classic era board) then Russ Meyer is an obvious choice - with back up from maybe John Ford or Sam Peckinpah as second unit for the Pro-Gun lobby crowd, Leni Riefenstahl to keep the migrants at bay and make sure everyone on set has a work permit, Billie Burke to check facts, and Neely O'Hara as dialogue coach.

Hopefully no one until they get that Franklin Pierce movie made. I've been waiting on that one for decades.

If we could indeed go back to the past, I pick Edward D. Wood, Jr. to direct with Bela Lugosi as [the GOP Prez] and Tor Johnson as Mike Pence.

This thread is FUN! I just wanted to make it clear that Tor Johnson would play Pence in his zombie mode as in Plan 9 From Outer Space and The Beast of Yucca Flats.

Quentin Tarantino (and entitled 'The Hateful Prez') Spike Lee could direct the follow-up Michael Cohen biopic with Henry Winkler, 'Mo' Bitter Blues'.

After that, Brian De Palma maybe.

He'd never want his name linked to the project.
