Remember that leaked pic of Starfire where everyone commented how she looked like cheap pickup girl and they (studios) said it was simply because we saw her in an unfinished, unflattering shot and we should wait till we see official images before we judged? Well, she still looks like a cheap hooker.
Beastboy and Robin look decent. But Starfire and even Raven are pretty bad.

Pics aren't loading for me on that page, but I think I saw them elsewhere, I really do not like Starfire still, also she seems out of place for the team because the last pic I saw you can tell she is MUCH older than the other actors, Robin's is older but he still looks young enough, atleast to still be youngish but older than the others still, but Starfire looks much older imo.
Also still wondering why they fucked with the look so much, people did colour alterations to actual pics of the actrss to give her the hair, a slight tint to her skin and gave her green eyes and it looked real good, why the fuck have they made her look like this though?

Yup. They said to wait for the official images because she was supposed to look better. Well... she still looks as bad as she first did in that leaked photo.

That's because the actress is THIRTY!!! And then actor for Robin is 29! But in fairness, the show is called Titans, not Teen Titans.
I think some of it looks ok and some of it looks whacky. But of all of it, Starfire is by far the most "off". And its not because she's black. I've said that before. I didn't have a problem with Idris Elba as Heimdall, I didn't have a problem with Michael B. Jordan as Human Torch, and I didn't have a problem with Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie. Because when I looked at those actors in their getup I still saw the character!
But everything they put together to create this character in this live action version doesn't add up to what we know from the source material.
Changes happens; I know that. But this... this might as well be a whole OTHER character.
I feel bad for the actress because she's the one taking the brunt of the hate, when its not really her fault. Its the fault of the costume designers and production designers who didn't know what to do with the character.

When the first pics came out a lot of people said she looked like a street walker. And now after seeing this picture offered up as the "official image" I wonder... DID they turn the character of Starfire into a street walker and then hire a black actress to play that?! If so HOLY SHIT!

Well, I guess in a realistic scenario, if you were a female alien who had no money, no proper identification, no papers, no college or even a highschool degree/diploma, no job experience, no friends, no family and no connections, what's the easiest job you could get on earth?

That is sort of what I mean though, she's not just older but in that image she looks much older than the other characters also, Robin being a few years older makes sense if he's meant to be the experienced leader of the team but he still looks to me atleast mid twenties, not too old to make him hanging out with Beast Boy weird, Raven I wish they casted older just because to me you can lose a lot of stuff by having her so much younger than the others, 18 and she would still be the youngest but she would also be old enough not to be a kid, and if she were older and Starfire younger they could feasibly be friends where as Starfire looks more likely to be a mother figure which I do not like myself.
I am with you though I could care less about the ethnicity of the character, though I initially thought they would cast white, or Hispanic, but black is fine, she's an alien and her race is that of another planet so white or black actress her ethnicity doesn't play into the character really, I am more annoyed with the other changes to the character.
I just don't know how this group is meant to fit together, im going to give it a shot obviously but im not overly optimistic at this point.

I thought she wasn't supposed to like this after all. And yet here it is...
And I quote, from her own tweet: "...its out of context and it's a misrepresentation..."
How? It looks the fricking same to me!
Again I repeat, its not because she's black. I didn't have a problem with Idris Elba as Heimdall, I didn't have a problem with Michael B. Jordan as Human Torch, and I didn't have a problem with Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie. Because when I looked at those actors in their getup I still saw the character! ^ I don't even understand the need for the fur coat. It's almost like the people in charge specifically wanted to make her look like a hooker. Why the hell would you want to fight crime in a fur coat?
And yeah, it's not because she's black (though if racial diversity was really their goal I don't understand why they didn't simply go for a latina with a natural bronze-ish skin tone) but because her whole 'look' is just plain bad. And yes, I do feel bad for Diop because none of this is her fault but she's the one who'll be taking the brunt of criticisms.

They reportedly allowed a number of actresses of different racial and ethnic backgrounds to audition for the role, and they settled on Diop.

One thing with a lot of tyhis stuff is though how defensive these people get and always having the same excuse of it's out of context, sometimes it's a fair pointy other times and it's like this and no it's not the outfit is fucking stupid and bad, really bad, also considering it's part of the promotional material you have to assume it's not a one episode look, but a actual wardrobe choice throughout, which makes it even worse, as a one off you could have the excuse of Starfire being maybe new to the planet doesn't get what her outfit makes her look like, she just likes the shiny dress and the fur feels warm and cuddly, but then someone tells her hey yo you look like a hooker, add in 5 minutes explaining what a hooker is and then bam Starfire wears something different, that's taking the outfit out of context, this is just shitty wardrobe.
And the thing is when the stars shoot back on this stuff that's when they invite the bullshit, if she weren't to say anything and people bugged her then I feel she's in an unfair spot, but when you comment on peoples complaint and tell them flat out they are wrong for thinking that way then you kind of are asking for people to give you shit imo.
