I saw this film quite some time ago and I am trying to find the name for it as I would love to watch it again.
It is from the 60's, colour, doesn't have any big stars in it as far as I can remember.
The main focus is these guys who have long range rifles which allows them to hide in the hills and pick off their pursuers as they please.
That is all I really remember, I thought it might have been called "The Long Rifles" but there doesn't seem to be a film called that.

In 1967, there was a TV movie remake of Winchester 73. It was in colour and, unlike the original, it didn't feature any big name stars.
If you saw the movie on TV, maybe this was the one?

Burt Lancaster does that in "Valdez is Coming," but he was a big star, and he was only one guy in the hills taking down an entire posse with his long-range rifle, so it isn't an exact match with your description, but I thought I'd throw it out there just in case.

Since you're now a deleted member is it worth my time and energy to even respond to you? Of course since you've been deleted you won't be able to respond (unless you get another account). Anyone?

You do REALIZE that the OP is now a deleted member, don't you? Although he (or she?) can still read replies IF they want to (or remember to). Not sure if the OP will get a new account, or not.

So if they're a deleted member, but their inquiry is still here and can still read replies, what does it matter?

In any case, its maybe The Hunting Party (1971) A ruthless rancher, and his gang, use extremely long range rifles to kill the men who kidnapped his infidel wife. Director: Don Medford Writers: Gilbert Ralston (story) (as Gilbert Alexander), Lou Morheim (story) | 3 more credits » Stars: Oliver Reed, Candice Bergen, Gene Hackman
