Pros - It's not RoboCop 3 Still violent as hell Stop-motion for the win RoboCain's first appearance. Lovely moment when he breaks his girlfriend's neck.
Cons - It's really fucking stupid. Having the director of The Empire Strikes Back didn't prove advantageous. Having the balls to ask us to feel sympathy when the kid drug dealer is killed.

Pro: The stop motion The animatronic Robocop puppet
Con: pretty much everything else
When I heard the TESB director was involved I figured it would be great--what a mistaken assumption.
One never knows with such things. I assumed Sam Raimi would be a good choice for Spider-man after Darkman since they had him swinging around buildings by a helicopter but in Spider-man it was all cgi.

"Okay, Tobey. We're gonna swing you around the city without a safety net. Earn that paycheck!" The use of cgi in it was horrible. Even for simple things like him climbing a low level building.

Pros -
Peter Weller still plays Robocop Tom Noonan is suitably creepy as Cain The sequence where Robocop is reprogrammed to be "nice"
The final stop-motion fight. It's nice to see some old-school FX before CGI took over
Cons -
Way too many villains and it's never clear what the stakes are
The script is an incoherent mix of various subplots and random supporting characters that don't mesh well.
Robocop is turned into a generic action hero with none of the conflict between his human and machine side which drove the original As was mentioned earlier, we're asked to feel sorry for the drug dealing kid's death after he spent the previous hour being a violent sociopathic little shit? The lack of the trademark Robocop theme
An OK action/sci-fi flick on its own terms, but a very disappointing sequel to the classic original

Try as it may, the sequel doesn't have the wit of it's predecessor, and might seem a bit dim in spots. Still, like Predator 2 from the same year, it's better than it's critical reputation. Robocop 3 - now that's a bad movie!

Pros:
- RoboCain is a great villain. - Dark and gritty like its predecessor - Peter Weller as RoboCop
Cons:
- Maybe having the kid as a drug lord. That was an odd choice, but then it is a very OTT film anyhow.
I have no major complaints overall and would consider myself a fan of this sequel.
