It depends on what we're talking about. If it's chocolate, quality, wine, quantity

It depends upon the circumstances.
There are some instances where quality is irrelevant.

Depends.
for gadgets, appliances and furniture, quality.
For some toys I buy cheap ones made in China in quantity. And they're not bad actually.

I'll take a suitcase full of worn $100 bills over a single, mint one.

In most cases Quality...
specific instance : authoring threads on an internet board ..a few threads of substance beats pages and pages (like 70+ pages) of mostly nonsense ones.

Quality most of the time but if it comes to something like food I take quantity into consideration too 'cause who wants to pay $10 for a two bag of lollies for example which are only 200 grams each when you can get a kilo bag of the exact same brand in another store for only $8.99 and will last you months?

It depends upon the circumstances. There are some instances where quality is irrelevant. Exactly right. Things sold in perfectly competitive market structure are of nearly the same quality. Sometimes more quantity could be a good trade-off against products that are of slightly higher quality but significantly greater price. That said yeah, for many many things perceived quality is more important.

Also, for an item that has a useful lifespan of only hours, days or weeks, it doesn't have to be built to last for years on end.
