Thomas Dolby, a true synth-pop pioneer of the early 80s which brought along with him a more funkier and warmer sound to his music than many of his fellow british synth-pop co-workers. This great live clip is taken from the mini-concert video "Live: Wireless!" (1983) which was to be included as a bonus DVD disc on the remastred 2009 CD version of his synth-pop classic The Golden Age of Wireless (1982). One Of Our Submarines is Missing (1982)
Airwaves (1981)

Inspired by Stefan's post above - - featuring Adele Bertei, who guested on several songs on the second Thomas Dolby album, including Hyperactive, which was always my favourite. Thanks nogbad for posting the video of The Bloods - Button Up. Catchy tune and with some solid bass playing. I only know of Adele through the work with Thomas, so I might have to check out some other videos with her. This live performance of Hyperactive is fantastic, and sounds even better than the studio version. I noticed that Dolby have gotten rid of his iconic "professor" glasses, during this period, and from the liner notes of the 2009 remastered CD version of The Flat Earth, I think he wrote something that he was trying to make something else than just another "Golden Age of Wireless Part. 2". However, since She Blinded Me With Science became a big surprise hit in america, around the same time he had began recording The Flat Earth, the record studio tried to push him to release a new album as fast a possible and they were not so pleased when they found out he was trying to kill off "the whole nutty professor/geek" image. Here is another clip from the same show (I think) also featuring Adele. A stunning cover of I Scare Myself.
