Wow, here's a film I had no recollection of watching (Dredd). Wasn't bad, come to think of it.

They're similar in plot, but different enough that it's hard to compare. Dredd uses guns and takes place in a dystopian future. The Raid is a martial arts movie, essentially. Depends on whether you like watching gunfights or hand to hand. I prefer hand to hand, but interestingly enough I liked Dredd better.
