Manchester by the Sea may be my favourite American film of the past 2-3 years.

Haven't seen La La Land yet, but I'm sure it'll be better than that shithole of a movie "Manchester by the Sea".

If you're looking for a character driven story, "Manchester by the Sea" is far and away superior. No one in "La La Land" acts better than Affleck in Manchester. If you like a bigger, Hollywood-style broad story, then you'll prefer "La La Land" I myself thought Manchester was superior.

Manchester is superior but I really enjoyed La La Land.
