Sometimes this is brought up in religious debates.
Aren't morals the product of group consensus and don't require a religious basis?
Each country has different morals. Something that is immoral in one country is considered okay in another. A Solution from Atheists

From the realization that to function as a society, murder will be counterproductive.

Each country has different morals. Something that is immoral in one country is considered okay in another. Countries consider things moral and immoral based on their laws. Cultures, on the other hand, may have set up their own moral standards. Morals do not need a religious component, but any decent religion will need a moral code of some kind.

God (i.e. The Holy Trinity (Father/Son(Jesus Christ)/Holy Spirit)) sets the standard of morality as His standards are objective morality which basically boil down to the morality of the Catholic church since it's the church He guides as it's the one He started with Peter, who's the first pope basically.
that's just the way it is but many will ignore it because they won't always like it's teachings.
It does not really matter if one country thinks something is immoral and another does not. if God says something's immoral, it's immoral. period.

if God says something's immoral, it's immoral. period. Yup. That's why it's wrong to wear clothing of mixed fibres. It always has been cos God told us it was. And none of this Old Testament v New Testament crap is going to change any of that cos it's just plain immoral. Period. And shellfish. They're wrong too. And women on their menstrual cycles. They're wrong as well. There's actually quite a big list really. But that's not the point. The point is that God clearly said that they're immoral, so they're immoral. Period. (no more thinking required - yippee!)

why they originate from the tree of knowledge which cradles the book of the living and the dead which is suspended over the river of life flowing from the magic spirit father's golden throne. the very same throne that trump is to be seated upon when all are judged for their ridiculous haircuts.

I love it how no Christian (Catholic or Protestant; fundamentalist or liberal) can ever actually answer that question. Quite telling!

They come from wherever you want them to come from. Which is why"objective" morality is pretty much a myth.

One must first decide what one actually means by "moral". What is the difference between a moral and an immoral action? What distinguishes one from the other?
