Planning to watch Choose Me, Trouble in Mind, and The Moderns for the first time. Wondering if there are any other similar works of his that are essential if I happen to enjoy these three.

I think Alan Rudolph is quite unique in his vision and carries a very particular style. If you like those three films, you might become absorbed into his cinematic world and wish to seek more out.
I'd suggest crime works like 'Love At Large' (1990) and 'Equinox' (1992) if you like 'Trouble In Mind' (1985).
Intimate dramas like 'Investigating Sex' (2002) and 'The Secret Lives Of Dentists' (2002) if you like 'Choose Me' (1984).
The period pieces 'Made In Heaven' (1987) and 'Mrs. Parker And The Vicious Circle' (1994) if you enjoy 'The Moderns' (1988).
As a music lover, you should check out 'Welcome To L.A.' (1976) and 'Roadie' (1980) if you get the chance.
