What are some movies that didn't need sequels or a reboot/remake?

The only remakes that really bother me are foreign films being bought up and remade in English before they are given any chance of a decent theatrical release. REC and My Sassy Girl for instance

Though in both cases I do prefer the originals (there are also minor changes in te Fincher film that were a little annoying or unecessary)

Death at a Funeral (2007) and Death at a Funeral (2010). Unusual case in that it used the same actor (Peter Dinklage) to play the same key role.
Baffling. Did they assume Afro-Americans are incapable of appreciating non-American movies? In English?

Gremlins 2
I liked the Matrix trilogy just fine, but I think Matrix by itself was just fine.

remakes - almost every remake is uneeded (even the good ones), especially the horror and comedy remakes.

I haven't but I ask because the changes may be stuff that was in the book but not the 2009 film.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo did get a good theatrical release in the U.S. and I believe was somewhat popular, hence the interest to make an English language remake. Movies based on books are fair game and Fincher's version is slightly better than the original imo.

I liked Rurouni Kenshin Seisouhen. Not as much as the first OAV, but at least it gave closure. Even if the anime ended after a truly horrific season 3, the tale of the manga was pretty good after the Shishio storyline, a real shame it never got animated. At least the Seisouhen movie gave us something of that.

George Lucas' Star Wars Saga The Sam Raimi Spider-Man Trilogy King Kong Whether or not you like Jackson's King Kong, a remake actually makes a lot of sense in this case. The technology finally caught up to the material.

What are some movies that didn't need sequels or a reboot/remake? Might be easier to list the reboots/remakes etc that ARE necessary than the ones that are not.
