I don't understand how it can be considered a remake of the first 3 while ignoring most of the original movie. That makes NO sense to me. It's more a remake of just 2, 3 and 4, especially since the ending of the first movie is used in Part II. WHoops, meant to say 2-4Now I can agree. Is this the only movie to combine multiple movies as a remake?

You agree with everything i said? I didn't read anything other than the OP. Saying Halloween, Elm Street and Friday The 13th are remakes while Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Casino Royale, Star Trek, Man of Steel, Spider-Man Homecoming and Batman Begins are true reboots.

Is this the only movie to combine multiple movies as a remake? Evil Dead 2013 has several elements of Evil Dead II. Godzilla 2014 features a more heroic Godzilla fighting other monsters, which is like most Godzilla films *except* the first one. Both instances where, like Friday, the sequels are more iconic than the originals. Then PJ's King Kong is like a combination of the 1933 film and the 1976 one, while also borrowing things from Son of Kong.
