rooting for the lions and rams.
that being said - i'd really like to see Gruden succeed this year - loved him as a commentator - guy's positivity is infectious - i think everyone is expecting him to fall flat on his face.
although I'm rooting for the Lions - want Darnold to light it up too and succeed this year. how can you not want the Jets to do well this year? kinda like the Browns.

I dunno but even though I'm a Packers fan there is something about the Lions I like so I'd like to see them win.
As well as the Raiders and I'm going to miss hearing Jon Gruden's MNF announcing.
To me he was the closest thing to getting Madden back.

To me he was the closest thing to getting Madden back. agree about the Madden/Gruden comparison - they made you want to listen and stay tuned in as viewer. anybody know who the old corpse commentating the Steelers/Browns game was with Greg Gumbel? he sounded like he was 90 - they kept calling him 'Coach' - but I couldn't place a voice with a face. it was painstaking to listen too - kind of like being stuck watching a game with your grandpop and he won't shut up. |

think this goes back to my 'crash and burn' thread.
not rooting for the Chargers this year 1- because for some odd reason they're everyone's darlings - and I loved they lost yesterday and 2- I never like how Philip Rivers talked to his teammates.
AFC - not rooting for - Chargers, Broncos, Bengals, Ravens, Dolphins, Patriots NFC - not rooting for - Saints, Panthers, Seahawks, Packers, Bears
And 'root' is a very strong word and sometimes I have a tendency to misplace it - I 'root' for the Eagles; however love when the Cowboys, Giants, Redskins are good - and I like to find other stories out there in the NFL where you can get behind a team so to speak and wish them no ill will.

Darnold throws a pick six on his very first NFL pass!! I thought he was somewhat overrated at USC, and I’m concerned he may be a bust.
Lions defense is underrated, their secondary is very strong and they do a good job of forcing TO’s.

This is sweet the Lions/Jets game got a 7:10 est start!
Maybe I'll get to see the first half.
Maybe they should roll with this format going forward - one Monday Night Game on the East Coast and one on the West Coast

Stafford looks absolutely terrible so far : 2/8 with 2 INT’s, but the Jets guy just fumbled the ball he just picked off and the Lions have the ball back!!!! Very sloppy but entertaining game so far.

Not because she's a woman, but she sounds like Melissa McCarthy doing a parody of an announcer. Not a fan. |
