The Game (1997) . Instead of Michael Douglas' character getting back all his money & life, the folks behind the "game" take him for all he's worth & he actually commits suicide just like his father did

At the end of Frozen, someone slips on the ice and successfully sues Elsa, winning $20 million (which turns out to be $20.15 after the lawyers take their cut).
Destitute, Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf move into Wandering Oaken's barn because Marshmallow refuses to give up the ice palace.

Star Wars - The Force fails Luke when he fails to blow up The Death Star. "Oh, shit!" as he sees Yavin IV turn to dust. Die Hard - Hans doesn't hesitate to kill McClane in their final confrontation. Right between the eyes. Happy trails, Mr. McClane!

Destitute, Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf move into Wandering Oaken's barn because Marshmallow refuses to give up the ice palace. Doesn’t count, Catman. It’s supposed to be an unhappy ending. I couldn’t stand that movie and its horrendous “Let it Go” song.

The Game (1997) . Instead of Michael Douglas' character getting back all his money & life, the folks behind the "game" take him for all he's worth & he actually commits suicide just like his father did That was exactly how I’d expected it, and when I first saw the movie I was a bit annoyed with that rather contrived last twist—but when I saw it again I realized how much that last twist throws you for a loop and works to bring the story full-circle. It’s a remarkable redemption story.

At the end of Ghostbusters, when the boys meet the crowds and attempt to drive away after destroying Gozer, the amount of structural fatigue that the building sustained from crossing the streams causes an immediate collapse of the building killing everyone within a few hundred yards.
