That's not information I'm going to share. But I use Sky TV; you can check their prices for yourself. That Sky TV only seems available in the UK. I live in the US. For about 70 to 80 dollars a month you can stream anything and everything. Including fast forward, rewind and pause. Plus watch live TV. That only requires a streaming stick. Which is the size a remote control and plugs into the back of your TV. And one extra remote control. That Sky TV website is in pounds. We use dollars around here. (According to the Internet, each pound is about 1 and a third the value of a dollar.) This isn't really about money. I dislike streaming services. I prefer to keep to my current setup.

I have 86 networks just on my "Favorites" list in my cable system. I don't think I could find and receive all of that content (+ what's not on my favorites) on streaming services for less then I am paying for my cable which is bundled with my internet and phone and provides me with 3 DVRs.

Everything available on cable is available streaming, for about 3 times less the costs. Also, when you stream, you can watch anything anytime you want. As opposed to when it is broadcast. You don't have to record anything. It's always there.

As I've said elsewhere, partly I don't like the business model because it boils down to the industry trying to screw more money out of everyone. Most people seem happy to do that, but I'm not. But also, like I said, I have most of the TV and movies I want already on my computer. Netflix or the like doesn't have much to offer me that I actually want.

How can you say streaming services are trying to screw more money out of people when streaming is the least expensive way to get content to your TV? I can imagine you having an extensive collection of old movies and TV shows. But what about new stuff? And I personally don't want to go through the trouble of getting copies of movies and TV shows and storing them somewhere. I would assume most people are like me.

If it's something I want, I get it. I've bought many DVD sets of series, movies, etc. If it's not something I want, I don't get it. Okay. I do. I would assume so also. But I am not one of those most people, nor will I ever be.

And there are more movies and TV shows available on streaming than you could ever own.

You buying DVDs all the time is more expensive than just streaming. Totally worth it. And TV is still free, and can be recorded. *Shrug* I've never known a show or movie I wanted and couldn't get.

Also, streaming services like NETFLIX and others take down content all the time and then I can't watch it anymore. That's why I always get the good stuff on DVD.
Also, I would literally have to subscribe to scores of streaming services to get all the content I get on my cable package where everything is in one convenient place. I have not run the numbers but I bet if I added up all the costs of all those services it would be more than my cable package which is discounted because I bundle it with internet and phone.
Plus, if I subscribe to all of those services I have to keep track of all those bills and all those passwords and I will no doubt receive annoying emails from each and every one of them. Nope, not worth it.

Baloney. You watch Netflix for one month, watch Amazon for one month, watch Hulu for one month, etc. Keep alternating. Never cost you more than 20 - 25 dollars a month. Most of those streaming services have a 30 day free trial anyway. You must be spending over 2 hundred dollars a month on cable Taylor.

No. What is ridiculous is paying over 2 hundred dollars a month for cable. But if that is what you like, keep doing it. Streaming is not for everybody. Just those if us who recognize a good deal. I know cable companies love customers like you.

And how often do you watch those DVDs and recorded movies and TV shows? Most of those you watch once and never again right? You really need to keep a library of movies and TV shows you will never watch again?

That Sky TV is free for you? Nope, but there are free tv stations. Netflix doesn’t show live sports, does it? Most TV stations and broadcast companies have their own apps now. You can download the ESPN app, NBC sports app, Fox sports app, etc and watch all their content anytime you want. Including live broadcasts. Between that and Sling TV you can pretty much watch any live sporting event from around the world. Way more than cable provides down here. And for a fraction of the money.

Even if you get Sling TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu --- you are only taking about 100 to 120 dollars a month. That is 80 dollars less than your typical cable package. And you get three times more viewing options than what is available on the biggest cable package. With much less cost to you.
