If he did say that, I'm sure plenty of people thought that was just as dumb, it's not like people have much issue with criticizing the Catholic church But they don't speak of the Pope as if he's an ignorant savage. That's my point. Really? Do you not remember Sinead O'Connor tearing a pic of the pope on SNL? How about all those memes comparing Pope Bennedict to Emperor Palpatine? |

Yes, and Sinead O'Connor was pretty much considered crazy. Those weren't the rational arguments against the Vatican's birth control policy which most were making.

The Vatican may say it. Never heard that from anybody in any parish I ever attended. No one in your parish opposes birth control?  Nobody says they do that I've ever heard. I've never even heard our priest speak of it at all. |
