The Man in the High Castle Lost in Space Star Trek: Discovery Jack Ryan
😕
I'm trudging through Enterprise, I'll get round to Discovery.
A forthcoming show has blipped the Prog radar. Nightflyers, based on a George R R Martin novella. There was an obscure 1987 film version which is worth a look, but a total mess. Loved the bit where the dude gets his arm, then the part of his head above the lower jaw lasered off. 👍

Definitely worth the watch if for no other reason than the Nazi themes world building as well as Japan. I’m a couple of episodes in on Jack Ryan and it is a very competent show. Looks great and the action well done. I love shows that can convince me they are in the locales the scene is set in. Lost in Space feels like LOST in space but less interesting. I’ll probably pass on the next season. No idea about Star Trek.

I've only seen The Man in the High Castle and I find it pretty interesting.
My main issue is that the trio of main characters is not as interesting as the ones we could describe as antagonists.
But I have say that the Man in the High Castle is probably the only work of fiction that made me somewhat root for Hitler and Himmler.

However what hooked me in the second season was the machinations I’m Germany. No spoilers but it was some nice twists with John Smith. I was afraid it wouldn’t be renewed with Amazon going more upscale and it losing some viewers, but I looks like it’s around for at least 2 more seasons. As an aside I love that their ad campaigns gets them in trouble.

who would play a glockenspiel in a gulag in galveston
i've always said that if the pilgrims had smacked their collective head on plymouth rock instead of swinging that self-righteous salt filled sock we'd all be better off then having to schlock after a mega-manical flock who thinks jesus was a wrestler or at the very least a super hot high school jock.

I recommend it, but it is hard work.

The closer the world comes to SHTF, the more that timid little men will need distractions like these to take their minds off of it.

I am particularly interested in Jack Ryan, being a big fan of the author's earlier work before he turned the series into a humourless right-wing rant.

Can't really form an opinion based on the ads that come up on the computer, but they look like good distractions for timid little men. And timid little women too. Sorry Rachel. Didn't see you earlier.

there's no business like fro business
every time a civil rights leader stands for something other than a proper procedure handed down from a pulpit of a great white deceiver everyone starts feeling butt hurt they might be the very next receiver of what's commonly referred to as the white washing behind leave it to beaver.

The Man in the High Castle It's really good. But relentlessly grim. It's well made, but I found the pilot boring enough that I never tried any more. I didn't care for the original series either. It sucks balls. Easily the worst Star Trek series ever, very possibly one of the worst series ever. I'm liking it so far, but you have to go into it as being something entirely its own thing, unconnected to anything else the Jack Ryan character has ever been in. I wouldn't if I were you.

Note, I did not mock the Anonymous one - that one had substance.
I'm in the library at the moment, and your video is blocked.
Which one?
Is it one flying over New York?
The easily identifiable Boeing E-4 over DC?

I believe it's the one over DC....an EB4 if I recall correctly. Modified Boeing 747. Hell, you're better with that stuff than I am. And, of course, it just happened to be on a routine assignment on that day. I hate using the library computer. They only let you on for an hour, and just forget about privacy. Never see anyone going there for books anymore.

These planes are always ready to fly at a moment's notice, especially if the President or command has been taken out and the next in line of command is the only one who can be taken there. If all senior staff had been killed, the senior man on that plane had authority to nuke people.
