IFC was running both of them sometime within the last week and God damn, I can't believe anybody ever thought they were funny. I laughed a handful of times, but yikes.

A gun rack... a gun rack. I don't even own *a* gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate an entire rack. What am I gonna do with a gun rack?

I don't know, I have both films and I still find them pretty hilarious. Especially Garth. Of course I was in high school when the original film came out (and the Saturday Night Live segments) so maybe it has something to do with your "cultural" upbringing... LOL

You know Wayne, if you're not careful, you're going to lose me. I lost you two months ago. Are you mental? We broke up. Get the net!

Sure, the films have some dated elements to them, but they're still fun. The humor and characters win the day.

I completely forgot that there was a Wayne's World II. Yes, one of James Hong's 500+ film and television roles. Amazing.

Only saw the first, which wasn't very funny apart from the Scooby Doo ending. Mike Myers is one of the most inconsistent comedians in show business.

The first one is alright, in fact it's probably the only decent Dana Carvey film. If you wanna see something truly unfunny and cringeworthy, try to watch "Master of Disguise".

I think they're fine. I don't put much stock in the idea that they're inappropriate for their time now so they're equally inappropriate when they were made. I'm forever defending my favorite Blazing Saddles for the same reason.
"Blazing Saddles would never be made today!"
"Well, then aren't you lucky it was made in 1974. Because you know, it's not 1974 anymore."

Haven't seen it since '93 maybe. Once the jokes get old, the Cassandra stuff just isn't enough. Good in tv movie kinda way.
