Tidal Wave: No Escape (1997)
A stupid and illogical movie about a terrorist setting off nukes underwater to create tsunamis.

Oh god I have NO idea. When did I first know of IMDB's existence? That is the question. I was looking at Aint it Cool news by 1997 so maybe they mentioned it there.

I joined the IMDb so I could post a scathing review of "Howard the Duck".
EDIT: This was in 2003.

American Pie: Band Camp. I'd lurked for a couple years, but this movie going into production forced me to make an account and ask what the hell it was.

Pretty sure it was Jaws 2 of all things, but I'm not 100% certain.

I remember that I needed to respond to someone about The Italian Job (2003), who called it a "movie with rappers". Seeing as the only active recording artist in the movie was Mos Def, a correction was in order.

The first post/thread I created - in 2001 - was "best movie about a taxi driver".
It was a joke post, but was taken quite seriously, nonetheless.

I don't remember. I joined up when the site still posted Leonard Maltin reviews for films.

Re: leonard Maltin
From memory... Maltin had a fallout with imdb when he publicly criticized the imdb voting/rating system for being too misleading and generous. His ratings were subsequently deleted from the site..it was around 2002/3?

I believe I had an account since 2001, but didn't use it to post anything until I came across the very contentious Murder Set Pieces (2004) board.

It was exactly 10 years ago, September 2008. The movie was Backwoods (2006), Gary Oldman, Paddy Considine and Virginie Ledoyen.
