Temple of Doom has that great ode to classic movies opening at Club Obi-Wan, the jumping out of the plane and into a raft on a river sequence, the disgusting dinner, the bugs, the heart-ripping out scene, that crazy mine-cart race, that iconic swinging bridge scene, plus Willie and Short Round, not one but two fun sidekicks. It had the nuggets to be darker and different, while still being light-hearted and fun.
