ellynmacg I was hoping to see this mentioned … "Classic Actors A-Z" the one where each clue had to be different from the previous and things like "role", "personal data", " Movie" etc ? I LOVED those and have been trying to reconstruct the direction for how to play but could not get it worked out quite right . Would you ? Could you ? Probably in the other games board ? PLEASE ! pretty please Awww...how could I possibly refuse those "sad pussycat" eyes? Here's a completed example of the game, for BAT and also for those not familiar with it. CLASSIC ACTORS A-Z, Part XIII - LUISE RAINER
A. ACADEMY AWARDS - She was the first actor (Male or Female) to win Academy Awards
back to back. For "The Good Earth" and 'The great Zeigfeld". Both for Leading Role.[Which reminds me--does anybody know what became of Happipuppi13? We had our occasional differences, but he seemed to have a good heart, and he was an enthusiastic gamester.] So, shall I go ahead and post the rules? On the original IMDb, I started "Classic Actors A-Z" as a Baker's Dozen, because the alphabet has 26 letters (equaling 2 x 13), so that's where I'll "restart" the game by posting the rules, if you'd like.

I seem to remember that there was a "save the instructions" at the top of the posts … I prefer the wording "instructions " to "rules" because of some recent problems concerning same but they seem to have settled down recently Looking forward to seeing the new olde game !
have not seen happi (that I can remember) since the change over.

OldAussie Posted mainly Classic Film and Film General. Occasionally posted on Westerns, Lawrence of Arabia and Bridge on the River Kwai. There's about half a dozen of the old Classic Film board currently contributing to this site. Thanks OldAussie, I do remember you from Film General. Nice to know there's a few Classic folks about.

Same name, graham, but with a number after it. I forget what exactly, it was one IMDB forced on me. I think it was graham-147, or maybe graham-167?
Posted mostly in the religion board, sometimes the Politics board. And The Passion of the Christ board, which always amused me because to this day I've never seen the film. Few other movie boards from time to time, sometimes the Star Trek boards.

I was InfamousSulla which is a reference from Spartacus. I dropped the "Infamous" part because clueless people treated it as a first name. Most of the time I posted on the RFS, Religion and originally The Passion of the Christ (known as The Pit, 2003-2007) boards. The Pit community is nearly extinct now. I only count six of us left on this site. Eleven of us met for dinner in NYC, 2006, 2007 and 2008. One couple later married (the first time they met on the board they got into a serious argument ). Cool that you met posters for dinner. I wonder how many couples have married. Cute story!

I used the following names: tobian72; tobian62; and tobian85. (Can we see a theme developing here? ) IIRC, I first started posting sporadically in the early "oughts", but didn't post regularly until 2006, with a new surge in early 2008. In addition to frequenting sites for a few individual actors and movies (mostly classic era, with a generous helping of Disney), I sometimes hung around both Star Trek and Star Wars sites, and some DC-related fora. I must say that I agree with DebLovesBeccy that the DC sites really deteriorated toward the end. And talk about vicious--some of those ST and SW fan boys/girls could act, and sometimes did act, little short of psycho! However, the fora where I spent the majority of my last couple of IMDb years were the Game Boards. Not only did I join in playing many of the Baker's Dozen games and Top 10s, I also created a few games as well--probably the most popular ones being "Classic Actors A-Z" and "Top 10 Silly IMDb People". I always got a thrill when I would leave IMDb for a while and come back to see that one or more of "my" games had gone right on without me--often with entries I would never have thought of myself. I do miss those days in many respects--but I definitely don't miss the fighting at DC, Marvel, Harry Potter, and other super-popular franchise sites. On the whole, I prefer the atmosphere here. It's (usually) more laid-back. Cool, thanks for the response ellynmacg. Yes, things often got stupid on IMDb. I'm glad you're enjoying this site

It wouldn't surprise me considering how many people seemed to be attracted to each other.

Extreme fans always ruin it for normal fans and they spend so much time online fighting with each other and criticising things I don't know where they even get the time to be fans of anything. I also think some people enjoy complaining about the things they dislike more than writing about the things they like.

As it says underneath my username, I went by the name of iPodTouch on IMDb. After I deleted the first time, however, I switched to the name of RussellWilson2013, and then to Joinedthenfcwest. Yes, those names lacked any creative thought process behind them, as I preferred to keep things short and simple on there. I mainly posted on the Soapbox, but I’m beginning to evolve past that board due to how everyone has evacuated the shithole of a board that it became after IMDb shut down for good. It dropped the soap during a conservative rant about how to deep clean the dust out of your partner’s ventilation box before it goes to rust within the shower, with the devil coming out of the box to rape the entire board with endless flooding amongst his 300 split personalities that were used to flood the place, turning it into one hell of a psychiatric prison. Stockholm’s syndrome seriously wasn’t a thing either, thankfully. This board is pretty much a new beginning for me.

I've more or less kept my old name, I've just made it a bit shorter, I wrote mostly on Classics board, and sometimes under induvidual movies. I wasn't especially active in later years.
Here I'm much more active.
