We have two dogs who are members of our family.  One is a Golden Retriever, the other is a mixed breed whose current passion is hunting possums (when she's not napping). Both dogs are rescues. |

I like animals, and I grew up in a virtual zoo--my mom worked as a vet tech (animal nurse, basically) and she was always bringing animals home, even if many were just temporary residents--but I don't really want the responsibilities, plus my wife and I travel too much.
I do visit animals a lot. Going to zoos, aquariums, on safari, diving/snorkeling, etc. are some of my favorite leisure activities.
And of course my folks still have a zoo at home and I visit them a couple times per year at least, but they mostly just have cats now.
