I've watched it a few more times now and I have a few more thoughts. I don't like that Carol's personality doesn't come through at all. I know she's finding herself or whatever in the story, but that bugs me for some reason. It reminds me of what I didn't like about the first Black Panther trailer. The central character barely said anything at all; it's kind of important to the story-- particularly a superhero story-- that the audience understands and relates to the protagonist. Especially in a story as fantastical as this one with all its sci-fi on full display. Again I get the vibe they're going for and they don't want to show us the entire film in the trailer, but we hear Nick Fury's voice more than Carol's in the trailer and that's a problem.
I've come around on the generic music, it fits the tone of the film and doesn't seem overly contrived. By that I mean the blockbuster was enough, they shouldn't feel like they have to double down and play Nirvana in the background the whole time or anything. If they do go that route in trailer 2, I hope their musical choice is an inspired deep cut that's topical to the film's theme.
Speaking of deep cuts, my last observation is how much I enjoyed all the Easter eggs upon rewatch. Young Coulson is going to be a blast, and seeing Ronan as a good guy (or at least siding with the protagonist for some of the film) should be fun as well. It's worth noting that the trailer featured zero jokes, except for the unintentional comedy of the old lady getting decked. Somehow I doubt the film will be that serious for its complete runtime, but as long as we don't go the Guardians/Ragnarok (which worked for those films, but I don't want it here) route, I'm fine.
