I think it's wild how Jane Fonda went from naughty-naughty Barbarella to the bitter toxic Gloria in the following year's "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" I mean that was a huge transformation. I don't think I have seen "Barbarella" all the way from start to finish. It used to be my best friend's favorite movie. (I think "Empire of the Ants" has since taken its place.) I will have to watch it again to see if there are any signs that Jane was getting fed up with Vadim and ready to break out.

I had a clip round the ear as a kid when my Dad discovered i was covering my sister's Sindy doll with Bacofoil...and then peeling it off in slow motion .
"What you up to lad?" "I'm playing Barbarella, Dad." "***smck!!" ""
Jane was impossibly attractive....and had that lovely voice. Barbarella is still ace ...and the theme song was one of my choices on a Movie Desert Island Disc local radio show I guested on some time ago.
