1. Goodfellas 2. Godfather Pt II 3. Godfather That would be my ranking. Have to say that it's a close call as they are all equally great. While the Godfather movies are exceptionally well-made, Goodfellas is more memorable start to finish. It has more "bang for the buck" IMO. |

That would be my ranking. Have to say that it's a close call as they are all equally great. While the Godfather movies are exceptionally well-made, Goodfellas is more memorable start to finish. It has more "bang for the buck" IMO. I can see that. Godfather flicks are more slow going. And if you watch the Godfather you have to at least watch the second which is getting on for a 7 hour viewing. I like Goodfellas because it's the street level associates of the mafia. The grunts if you will. And it has one of the best openings in film history. Sucks you right in. |

The GF films are well made, I just find them a tad dull. Goodfellas is a bit more exciting, but there's a lot of Scorsese I prefer ( After Hours, The Aviator, Raging Bull, The Silence, even Cape Fear). Maybe I'm just not that into gangster films, I'd probably give Once Upon A Time in America an 8/10. As far as how tough I am, I've never rated anything 1/10 and probably only a couple 2/10. |
