Which failed more spectacularly? Two and a half years later, still baffled by Eisenberg's performance.

Both were terrible, but Eisenberg's Luthor was especially bad.

I honestly can't decide. I'd lean toward Luthor being worse, but only because he had more screen time. They're both equally awful iterations.

Leto's Joker is an amazing character compared to Eisenberg's Luthor...

Eisenberg was basically playing Luthor with Asperger's Syndrome.

I still hate Eisenberg's Luthor, but I can live with it. Everything about the conception of Leto's Joker was wrong, and let's face it, everything about the movie was garbage. Yeah, even Margot Robbie.

I love both films but Eisenbergs Lex Luther was worse casting. I kinda liked Letos Joker.

Lex Zuckerberg. I saw room for improvement with Joker Wallace. They shot god knows how much footage of Eisenberg's jittery nutjob interpretation and no one thought "this looks kind of dumb".

I wasn't a big fan of either, but I'll go in favor of Luthor here.
I didn't buy Leto for a second. I don't hate him as an actor, and could see him as the Joker. It just was handled really weird. "Suicide Squad" was a really weird movie. It seemed like it was trying to emulate "Watchmen" (modern music, lots of talking) but with a less interesting soundtrack, and less compelling characters. I'm not a comic reader, so I don't know the whole story on either, but Leto's Joker seemed like some weirdo with a Lamborghini who had money. He never came off as threatening or evil to me. It was try-hard to me. I'm rooting for DC, but this seemed like a misstep. And I like Leto...just maybe not as the Joker.
I can live with Eisenberg. The direction they took his character is unusual, and I didn't really care for it. What I do like is that he can be potentially brought back as a more traditional Lex and that we'll know about how he became who he is. Eisenberg is a great actor, and I'd bet on his ability to work his way into the Lex we're more used to.
I may be in the minority, but I like Eisenberg's take on Luthor being more like a modern day genius/mogul. If DC is trying to be super-grounded (don't really like that personally), I could see him being a believable villain. I'm especially glad they didn't kill him off prematurely.

People who say Eisenberg's Luthor was wrong are narrow-minded and not grasping the point.
Luthor started out as a mad scientist in the 1940s Action Comics. Because that was the world wide threat then.
He evolved into the CEO Lex, because big business was evil after the 1960s.
This was the Mark Zuckerberg version of Lex. Which would be today's biggest threat to our society. He also evolves into a mad scientist (back to his roots) by the end.
There was nothing about Leto's Joker that was right.

Good question. Both were nominated for a Razzie. I agree with the winner.
I didn't like or dislike Jared's performance. There wasn't enough screentime to judge.
Jesse's performance wasn't the worst I've ever seen (not even the worst of 2016), but it was bad. I get what he was trying to do (this kind of villain can work as the opposite of this new dark and gritty SUPERMAN), but he wasn't directed well. Every mannerism was taken to the extreme to the point where I wasn't believing him. I didn't see a character; I saw Jesse.

I'll say Leto because he annoyed and offended me equally in only 1/8th the screentime.
Plus, a Mark Zuckerberg Lex sounds like a good idea on paper. A goth wangsta Joker was doomed from the start.
