Other than sports I rarely watch TV but have a handful of favorites.
Me:
Dateline (love mystery/whodunit/crime thriller movies - Dateline to me has always been a mini 'WhoDunIt' even though you can pretty much predict it's the ex wife or husband)
You?
Go!

I love crime procedural/mystery stories as well, both fictional and real life. I am a huge fan of shows like the Law and Order franchise and Criminal Minds, and I also enjoy real life mysteries like Dateline.

Multiple people have recommended Criminal Minds to me over the years and it seems to be on multiple channels (i.e. re-runs) - going to have to give it watch sometime.
Always enjoy just as you've described:
48 Hours 20/20

Nothing go-to. I'll watch American Pickers & Curse of Oak Island on History Channel. I just don't watch tv for anything but sports & news.

This time of year - being Halloween is coming up (favorite holiday season Halloween-Christmas) - they've got multiple specials on Dracula (Vlad the Impaler), Transylvania, ghosts, mummies, etc. I'm also a sucker for those 'survial' Alaska shows and such with people surviving in the wilderness with limited resources - even though they're mostly staged - I love hiking, the woods, wilderness, nature, animals, etc.

never saw one ep - but probably need to give it a watch.
still bartend sporadically and I laugh when people order 'Old Fashion'eds' because apparently Mad Men spike the Mahatten and Old Fashion craze amongst men over the last decade.
Have an old school Mr. Boston Book - i.e. bartending and apparently the new school 'Mad Men' way of making one would be laughed upon by gentleman in the 1920s. Now a day - and how I learned was you muddled up simple syrup (sugar and water), club soda, orange peel and a cherry and added 1.5 oz of bourbon and spritzed again with club soda and added an orange peel and cherry on top for a garnish.
apparently old school - sugar cube, 3 dashes of bitters, 2 oz of bourbon and a 'lemon peel' for a garnish.

They'd probably be more appealing if they weren't so forced. I think that's why American Pickers & Ice Road Truckers is decent filler tv, because they're not there for the cameras, they're just doing their thing, cameras are practically inconsequential. I've given Yukon Gold a few tries, it's usually on mid weekday mornings or whatever for a dayoff, but 80% of that show is machinery breaking down & them having to troubleshoot. It's boring. Also struggling to earn income, they're f'n depressing.

Pretty much any genre will do.
Currently watching Game of Thrones, Westworld, Ozark, Stranger Things...and whenever new seasons happen Iβll catch up on Peaky Blinders and Black Mirror.
Historically Iβve watched everything from Breaking Bad to Death Note.

Otherwise it's just some hick/hillbilly driving a big rig in the snow.
Anybody remember this baby?
To Catch a Predator
Talk about topnotch entertainment - watch as the hysterics ensue.

I've got a thing for Nigella Lawson. Food doesn't make me horny, but it does with her.

It may have supplanted The Sopranos as my all time favorite. The series progresses from early 1960 to late 1970 and the character progressions are amazing. The episode called "The Suitcase" is the apex of what TV can be. If you have Netflix, give it a try.

Right now, just Shameless, Better Call Saul and American Horror Story. Running through The Sopranos for the 5th or 6th time, just for something to watch when nothing else is on. I'll watch Game of Thrones if it ever comes back. I hear theres another season of Fargo coming but that not until summer of 2019. Better be better than last one.
