Y - YOUNG ROMAN TRIBUNES - For his role of Messala in 'Ben- Hur' he had to grow a beard then when it was quite long researchers discovered that young Roman tribunes didn't have beards so it had to come off. Lebowskidoo 🦞 -- Is this guy really a classics actor? He seems to be better known as a Western movie actor of bit parts. Personally speaking I'd never even heard of him.

If that's the qualification for being an actor, then go ahead. My feelings on the worth of The Oscars as a judge of talent are unprintable.

It does show that he is in the mainstream -- with a good amount of films (Westerns and non-Westerns) in a full career.
