Disabilities that are physical, mental, or emotional. Two of my favorites out of many:
My Left Foot (1989)
The Miracle Worker (1962)
Thanks in advance.

I can never forget the performance Lon Chaney Jr. in Of Mice and Men (1939). I also liked Burgess Meredith's acting. A truly gem of a movie. Have not read the book but the movie itself was awesome.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame and it's many versions, the pic is Lon Chaney offcourse, I can't even imagine the horrible things disabled persons had to live through, left alone and thought of as freaks.

Freaks (1932) Tod Browning's film caused extreme controversy upon release, a number of critics expressed outrage and revulsion. Freaks became the only MGM film ever to be pulled from release before completing its domestic run. The film was thought to be overly exploitative and was banned in the United Kingdom for 30 years. Despite the negativity and with that clearly exploitive insensitive title, the film is a thoughtful and insightful drama. Browning manages to frighten and shock but also creates a touching sensitive tone, and gives a revealing glimpse into the lives of sideshow performers especially chosen for their unique physical disabilities.
