I saw that on ESPN. That's frickin' amazing, especially for someone so young. Not even MJ scored 70.

Kid's going places. Seriously, I can see him playing in a few All-Star games and being put on a couple All-NBA teams by the time he retires. Dude's probably the third best player of the 2015 draft, behind KAT and the Unicorn.

Ideal scenario. Let somebody jack up a million shots (40 shots, 26 FTs) while you cruise to a victory. I bet Brad Stevens wishes every game was this easy. Ironically I would've respected this more if it were a close game or even if the Suns won in a blowout. If you have a chance to do something historic, go for it. Make the other team stop you, they're all professionals. But this was kind of sad.
70 points is 70 points, there were professional players on the court playing against him so I don't mean to say 'it was easy' or 'anyone can do that,' or whatever else. But when this happens in a blowout loss, it kind of makes a mockery of the game. At some point the Suns stopped playing basketball and treated this like an exhibition. It's a bad look for the league.

How about when David Thompson scored 73 on the final day to pass Gervin for the scoring title, so Gervin scored 63 to win it.

It's selfish but at least there's a scoring title at stake. Circumstances being what they were, I can understand that mentality. I'm sure his teammates were on board with it, Booker's teammates certainly were. It doesn't upset me at all, I just think it's a tad bit embarrassing when you think about it. Hell, if I had been there, I would've been cheering just like many of the C's fans were on Friday. It's a hell of a feat. But when you look at the big picture, at some point the Suns stopped competing and that's not a great message to be sending about your league.
