Just curious, and having seen ones asking about male-Skywalker characters lives, I thought it be interesting to see what you all think which of the women of STAR WARS had it worst. Not a complete list of ALL female characters, just some major ones/fan favorites. If I missed anyone you think should have been on the list, please comment below.
As always, I ask everyone be polite and respectful, and remember this is just supposed to be good fun for us geeks.

I'm going to go with Shmi Skywalker. She basically spent her entire life as a slave on a back water desert planet. On which she gave up her only son and was eventually killed by tusken raiders.
Leia and Padme had affluent upbringing and, outside Leia home planet being destroyed, they did not suffer particularly more than their male counterparts.
Rey would be in the running as she had a rough, lonley childhood, but she still alive and never lost a child so Shmi takes the lead.
The same could be said for Jyn, but at least she knew she had parents who loved her. And a mentor who look out for her.
Mara had it rough too, but she at least had the resources of the Empire, Talon Karrde, and eventually the Jedi at her disposal.
All that said my vote goes for Shmi.

Shimi was pregnanted against her will, along with being a slave.
So I voted for her.

I'd go with Shmi. Damn it:
- Life in slavery,
- being impreganted/raped by Sith lords via midi-chlorian manipulation
- must let go of only child
- being sold to cripple on boring moisture farm and married to him,
- abducted and brutally raped & starved by Sandpeople (probably Sith behind it again)
- only child becomes one of the worst criminals, traitors and murderers in the galaxy
That's rough.
Second place I would chose Jyn Erso: her life seemed to have been very hard too, losing everybody and everything including her life.
Third maybe Beru, but she seemed happy as farmer's wife with a family, her death was gruesome though.
