Good fun, but nothing particularly scary about it. Decent entry into the werewolf library.

I've never seen that poster before. Gary Busey and Corey Haim give terrific performances in this.
It really captures that small (but not podunk) town feel, celebrating the 4th etc. its really relatable. I was right around the same age as Haim when I first saw this back in the 80's.

Love it. Ranks alongside An American Werewolf in London as my favourite werewolf movie.

I wanted that wheelchair so much when I was a kid.
As a grumpy old 40-nothin now, I want to BUILD that wheelchair for a kid.
Gary Busey is really good in this. It's easy to rip on him for getting a little crazy post-motorcycle accident, but he's truly a great actor and is awesome in this.

Fun watch and the transformation effects are awesome! Although, I still prefer The Howling and American Werewolf in London.

Pretty lacklustre. I wanted to like it because I have an affection for other 80's horrors with kids in like The Monster Squad, The Lost Boys, Something Wicked This Way Comes, they make me want to return to my youth, but this made me want to return to what I was doing before I watched it. I mean it had some ok moments but for the most part it was just silly.

The movie ended with the town preacher dead, naked, and horribly mutilated about the eyes. I can't help wondering how the protagonists explained their way out of this one.

It’s based on one of the thinnest books ever too. It’s about 12 pages and reads like a calendar.

It's fun. Sometimes funny, intentionally and unintentionally. I doubt anyone while making the film would realize the look on Gary Busey's face when he finally faces the werewolf would be so hilarious. I wish I could have seen this movie in a theater just to see how the audience reacted.
It's not a bad film. I think the werewolf scenes were unconvincing. The kills were silly. The characters in the town were ridiculous. But at the core was the trio of the brother, sister and drunk uncle, which is why I enjoyed this film.
I will say this much. This is one of those instances where the film is better than the novel. Stephen King phoned that one in for an easy paycheck.
