I’m normally not one to care for racebending, but given how the Huntress has sometimes been depicted as being of mixed descent, it seems like it would’ve made more sense for her to be played by Jurnee Bell, while Black Camary would be played by MEW.

I’m normally not one to care for racebending, but given how the Huntress has sometimes been depicted as being of mixed descent, it seems like it would’ve made more sense for her to be played by Jurnee Bell, while Black Camary would be played by MEW. Yeah, I had the same thought. If they were to race-swap one character I would have expected it to be Huntress and not BC. But it's ok, I like both actresses so it's not a big deal. |

Still say they should have a Black Catwoman...
But I cringe a little that they chose the character named "Black Canary"...I can't tell if it's pandering or empowering.
Though I cringe a little at Black Lightning, and they are embracing it.
Never had an issue with Black Panther, mainly because that's an actual animal...

Blake Lively really needs to get cast in a superhero movie soon. She's got the looks for it. She was my first choice for Valkyrie and was hoping she could be Capt. Marvel. Couldn't they have made Huntress the African American one? I think that would have been bettER... That would even make a little more sense since the latest iteration of Huntress in the comics is of mixed race. Just saying...

That’s why I said that it would’ve made more sense for JSB to play Huntress while MEW plays Black Canary. |
